The Rubik’s Cube was one of those toys that frustrated me over the year. It was one of those mind-numbing toy where you turn and turn but go no where thing.
Not sure what I was thinking but decided to watch a tutorial on YouTube, maybe I was bored, I don’t know. But after few hours, I was able to solve it comfidently in just over two minutes. Not too bad for something I thought was un-achievable in the past!
Here are some quick notes from the tutorial since I don’t really want to rewatch it every once a while but still want to keep the notes from what I learned.
Basic Moves

Yellow Daisy to White Cross


- flip so yellow on top, swap all the bottom corner to white using Righty-ALG
- Righty-ALG on white corners
- move to right, use: U, Righty-ALG, spin right(<-), Lefty-ALG
- move to left, use: U’, Lefty-ALG, spin left(->), Righty-ALG
- Righty-ALG on white corners
- yellow cross
- line or dot
- F, Righty-ALG, F’
- angle
- f’, Righty-ALG, f
- line or dot
- corner match
- Righty-ALG x 3, spin right, Lefty-ALG x 3
- white top, place yellow on bottom right
- use Righty-ALG, once bottom right is yellow, load next yellow into bottom right
- yellow top
